FAQs
What happens at a hearing test?
Hearing tests are unobtrusive, comfortable, and totally painless.
Typically taking under an hour, our hearing tests find the range of sound frequencies that your ears can pick up. The first part of the assessment involves a series of beeps being played through noise-cancelling headphones. This gives us a great idea of any hearing issues.
The second stage uses a modern video microscope to make a close-up examination of your inner ear. This can reveal the extent of any earwax blockages, or potentially any ear drum or ear canal damage.
We will discuss the results with you and can offer independent, fully impartial, no obligation advice on the most suitable paths for treatment if we detect any problems.
This could involve a referral to your GP, an ENT specialist, or a more in-depth hearing test to diagnose any underlying issues.
Will I need a hearing aid?
It’s possible, but it depends on what is causing hearing loss. If you have a condition that a hearing aid will improve, then we can help.
As an approved hearing aid supplier, we show how the most suitable models – from cutting edge in-ear receivers, to discreet digital hearing aids – might assist with improving your quality of life. We pride ourselves on supplying the most suitable devices rather than the most expensive, and as well as demonstrating how your model works, our aftercare is second to none.
If you have any issues, just get in touch.
Where are your drop-in clinics?
We provide our hearing services at outlets throughout South Wales and the South West of England.
You can book an appointment with us in Bristol, Gloucestershire, Newport, Somerset and Wiltshire.
Where do you give home hearing tests?
If mobility or transport issues mean you can’t reach one of our clinics, our audiologists can come straight to your door.
This includes places where we don’t have branches, taking in the whole of South West England, South and Mid Wales, and as far north as Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire.
